On this safari you drive
through central Kenya and north across the equator to
Samburu National Reserve a beautiful and game abundant park
which is home to rarely found species such as the Beisa
Oryx, Grevy's zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and
reticulated giraffe. After a 2 days stay, proceed to
Sweetwater's game ranch to see wildlife including chimps,
then to Rift Valley ? Lake Nakuru National park from where
you will proceed to Kenya's most popular game sanctuary,
Maasai Mara game reserve.
Day 1: Nairobi/Samburu
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through
central Kenya and north across the equator to Samburu
National Reserve. Arrive in time for an afternoon game
drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu game lodge, Samburu
Simba lodge, Samburu Sopa lodge or Sarova Shaba lodge.
Day 2. Samburu National Reserve
Spend the day in Samburu, with an early morning
and late afternoon game drives. Samburu is a beautiful and
game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the
Beisa Oryx, Grevy's zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and
reticulated giraffe. Optional visit to a local Samburu
village.
All meals and overnight at lodge or tented camp.
Day 4: Samburu - Mt Kenya
Depart Samburu after breakfast and drive to
Sweetwater's for an afternoon game drive in this private
ranch. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwater's tented camp,
Serena mountain lodge, Mt Kenya Fairmont safari club, Mt
rock lodge or Alliance Naru moru river lodge lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru
After breakfast and drive to the floor of the
Rift Valley - to Lake Nakuru Nat. Park with a brief stop at
Nyahururu Thomson Falls. Arrive Lake Nakuru Park in time for
lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Besides the
flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400
other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species
of game can be found in the park including the introduced
Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck,
reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of
plains game. Dinner and overnight at flamingo hill tented
camp.
Day 5: Maasai Mara
Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive
further along the floor of the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara
arriving lodge or tented camp in the afternoon. Afternoon
game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Mara, Sarova
Mara game lodge Mara Simba lodge or Mara Sopa lodge.
Day 6: Maasai Mara
Day spent game viewing with morning and
afternoon game drive.
[There will also be an optional visit to a local Maasai
village and balloon ride.]
All meals and overnight at the camp.
Day 7: Nairobi
Depart Maasai Mara in the morning and drive back
to Nairobi. End of services.
