Birding Safaris
Day 1:Meru conservation area [Meru National park,
Bisinadi and Kora national parks]
Depart Nairobi past Central highlands to Meru
conservation area. Afternoon game viewing/ bird
watching. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or campsite
[Elsa's Kopje, Rhino river camp, K.W.S Banda or off beat
camp].
Day 2: Meru conservation area
Full day game viewing/bird watching. Dinner and
overnight at a lodge or campsite.
Day 3: Samburu National Reserve
Depart Meru National park for Samburu game reserve
arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game/bird viewing.
Dinner and overnight at a lodge or campsite [Samburu
game lodge, Serena lodge, Samburu Simba/Samburu sopa
lodge or similar]
Day 4: Samburu National Reserve
Day spent game viewing /bird watching. Dinner and
overnight at a lodge or campsite.
[Optional Samburu village visit]
Day 5: Mt Kenya
We drive south to Mt Kenya . Afternoon short leisure
walk. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or campsite. [ Mt.
Kenya safari club, Mountain rock lodge, Serena mountain
lodge, Naru moru river lodge or similar]
Day 6: Lake Baringo
Depart Mt Kenya after breakfast for Lake Baringo via
Thompson Falls (Nyahururu). Lunch, afternoon boat
excursion to see the hippos, crocodiles and birds.
Dinner and overnight at Lake Baringo club, Island camp
or Roberts camp.
Day 7: Lake Baringo
Full day bird watching. All meals and overnight at a
lodge or campsite.
Day 8: Lake Bogoria- Lake Nakuru
Morning we visit the spectacular Lake Bogoria with very
hot springs. Flamingos live here and you can explore on
foot. Then proceed to Lake Nakuru national park famous
for its bird life for a game drive. Dinner and overnight
at a lodge or campsite [Flamingo hill tented camp,
Sarova lion hill, Mbweha camp, Merica hotel in town or
similar]
Day 9: lake Naivasha
Breakfast and depart for Lake Naivasha . Afternoon bird
watching. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or campsite. [
Lake Naivasha country club, Naivasha sopa, Crater Lake
lodge , Fish eagle or similar]
Day 10: Lake Naivasha
A visit at Crescent Island in the morning. Crescent
Island is a preserved sanctuary of wildlife where you
will wander among tiny herds of mammals. A peaceful
experience Giraffe, antelope, gazelle, eland, zebra and
lot of birds. Afternoon a game drive or a walk at hells
gate. You can also hire a bicycle at an extra cost and
cycle around the park. Dinner and overnight at a lodge
or campsite.
Day1: Masai Mara
Early morning depart for Maasai Mara national reserve.
Lunch, followed by a game viewing/bird viewing safari.
Dinner and overnight at a lodge or campsite [Mara Serena
lodge, Mpata safari club, Mara sopa, Mara leisure camp,
Mara Siria camp, Keekorok lodge, Ilkeliani camp, Mara
Simba lodge, Enchoro wildlife camp or similar]
Day 12 & 13: Masai Mara
Two full days game viewing and bird watching. Dinner and
overnight at a lodge or campsite
[Optional Maasai village visit]
Day14: Nairobi
After breakfast we return to Nairobi .
NB: This program can be extended with a coastal beach
stay at Mombasa, Lamu, Malindi, South Coast or Zanzibar
